This has been solved and Identified as Chickweed (Stellaria media)

This is a winter growing weed here in Zone9b. Very prolific with the rain. About eight inches tall. Very fragile and wetter than lettuce!

We call that chickweed.

I spent all this fall pulling chickweed out of my lawn by hand. I quickly identified it by the tiny white flowers. You see, I wasn't so smart in the spring. I would pull it and toss it back into the grass to be mulched up with the mower. It must have reseeded! I think I got most of it up and into a bucket and tossed in the trash.

Yes it is a heavy seeder and if you see it blooming it has likely set seed according to what I read. It'd cover every square inch here if we let it. I don't know any chicken people. They allow them 'in town' but I have'nt heard any.
