Background history:

'Curt's Gift' is a semi-evergreen tetraploid introduced in 2012 by Judy Davisson. Judy is also known as "Davi" here on ATP! Check out her website for more of her beautiful daylily creations:

A wonderful interview with Judy can be found here: as well as this short video:

This daylily is AWESOME! While I am a big fan of Davi's work in general, this plant is special. It is a child of two of her best intros, HIGH WATER MARK and CAROLINA COOL DOWN (both favorites here) and is the parent of two other favorites: ROYAL GIRLS and MISTER MAYOR. As for CURT'S GIFT itself, it is one of the best pod setters and seed producers in my garden. You only need to think about setting a pod on it and suddenly 12 pods will spontaneously form, even in full baking sun on a 95 degree afternoon. Color is sparklingly clear and plant habit is superb. I will be blooming a lot of seedlings out of CURT'S GIFT this summer.

Only an angry, mean, maladjusted person would not love this daylily! Smiling

Good is proof that I am happy, nice and well adjusted. Rolling on the floor laughing

CURT'S GIFT is amazing here in Illinois, great color and very dramatic. Has been a wonderful parent for me, and I will continue to use it heavily. Davi continues to produce the most amazing cultivars!
