I am sure this is not going in the garden or about the garden but here are a couple mosaics that my grand daughter made and is still working on. There were her first attempts. I hope to some day give it a try.

This one is a portrait of herself.

She is 16. I think this is a school project.

I sure agree, and portraits are very difficult to do in mosaics.

We have a spot all picked out for him, on top of one of the 8 ft stubs left from cutting the trees off the roof that fell during Hurricane Irma. WE can then see him from the screen porch while we eat cheese and hummus, drink wine and beer on weekend afternoons this summer. This was a compromise, you understand. what hubby REALLY wants is an approximately one-plus ton purple concrete chicken that is about 9-10 feet tall and resides at a roadside place on the way to Daytona Beach. We drive by it every year when I do the art festival there. Its an almost $2000 chicken. So this is definitely the right chicken of us

I will. There used to be a wholesale nursery here called in town. It was owned by the husband of a lady who ran the #1 very best local retail nursery in town for years when we first moved here in 1992. She retired at one point and two of her employees took over the nursery and it was still great. Then a new owner bought the property they were renting and raised their rent so steeply they had to close the business. But the original lady's husband still ran the wholesale place, and they had one of these big purple concrete chickens at the entrance to the long dirt road that leads down there. That's where he first saw one. Then he thought it was like the most perfect coincidence the first time he saw the purple chicken going to Daytona, like it was saying it was meant to be that he get one. Now the purple chicken at the nursery is gone, they sold the wholesale plant nursery to a marijuana growing outfit. Go figure.

Yeah but the bigger thing is, the nursery guys changed to grow the MJ, and once they got the permit, they sold the permit to a Canadian company for millions of dollars. And there isn;t even any farming going on there, at the moment. SO no nursery, no MJ, and no chicken
