Background history:

'Mermaid’s Spell' is a semi-evergreen tetraploid introduced in 2013 by Judy Davisson. Judy is also known as "Davi" here on ATP! Check out her website for more of her beautiful daylily creations:

A wonderful interview with Judy can be found here: as well as a short video:

Juli started a thread here about Judy Davisson: The thread "ATP Series: The Daylilies of Judy Davisson" in Daylilies forum

Mermaid's Spell is a tall and large mid-season to late bloomer.

This plant can be found in the ATP Plant Database at:
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Mermaid’s Spell') .

Please join in, if you own this plant! We would love to know more! I award an acorn for performance information posted to this thread.

Also, please consider adding a "Local Report" to the ATP Plant Database! Thank you!

Oh, let me count the ways!

My first year blooming here, and it was simply amazing. Tall and huge....what a plant! My most treasured seeds are out of her, crossed with TETRFK kids. I think anybody who loves watermarks and large blooms, this plant is a must!

I completely agree with Steve on this one! MERMAID'S SPELL has HUGE blooms, perfectly balanced scapes and it readily sets huge pods full of fat, healthy seeds. It blooms out slowly and last year stayed in full bloom for almost 5 weeks. This plant, along with its sibling MAKE IT SNAPPY, are eye-catching, dynamite performers in my garden.
