Team Online Nursery or Team Local?

Gardeners have to have plants. It might even seem like the more we have, the more we want to have! The only question is: where do we primarily shop: online or locally?

Because I own a small one-person nursery, I always support locals first whenever I shop. I do shop online for plants I cannot get from local wholesalers, and try to raise them for my customers to have something different. Online plants often have a hard time acclimating to our area (especially if they come from the most northern states)

I am pretty exclusively a local shopper - partly because shipping/mail service to our farm is unreliable.

Being new to Florida and also Arkansas, I prefer to buy local. When we first moved to AR, the local nursrery gave me lots of advice on what grows here and where to plant it. The same was true in FL, where there are so many nurseries and being a nut about daylilies, there are dalily farms in abundance in my area! Because we travel from one home to another and our schedule is not fixed, I hesitate to do mail order.
Any day you wake up on the sunny side of the grass is a good day.

Local all the way. My go-to nursery almost always has the exact cultivar on my wish list, and their stock is always healthy. I do not patronize big box nurseries.
