So far so good. This is not all of them, but roughly 30 or so. Notice the tri-lobed leaf structure, god I hope it turns out sexy!

Well done Brenden! You'll have to wait about a year and a half to 2 years before you see any flowers.

From the looks of the picture NOW would be a good time to separate the seedlings since they are making true leaves. Don't wait too much longer because the roots will become hopelessly entangled and difficult to separate. Start them off in small individual pots and work your way up to gallon size for the first year and make sure you incorporate some of the soil they are in now with some new. You'll want to handle them by the leaves, not the stems. Any time I work with seedlings I repeat my mantra over and over:

Leaves can be replaced, stems cannot.

Thank you, keith, I hope they will.
And Xer, based off general info that I have sniffed up, I might be able to hustle them out at end of this summer, but who knows. Have you ever grown them xer?

Yes I have. I started deliberate crossings about 3 years ago .. the first to bloom is White Magic X Cherry Appaloosa - the plant is 2 years old and bloomed for the first time this last December. The picture is of the Winter bloom. Can't wait to see what kinds of patterning goes on in the Summer. I have 3 more plants of other crosses but they are only a little over a year old.

Amazing, you just acquired a groupie! Tell me, any other flowers from that cross? Or only one seed make it? Also, how did you manage to be economical regarding the resources needed for them. Did you prune to keep smaller, to accommodate, assuming you have others growing as well? Or did you just do a few just to see what it's like

I collect Hibiscus, hardy, tropicals and cousins like Pavonia. I overwinter them in my greenhouse and cut back in the fall and root cuttings for 'insurance'. Every 3 - 4 years I do drastic cut backs and drastic root prunes on the tropicals to keep them manageable pot size wise since they have to be over wintered. My crosses are deliberate and thought out, taking coloring and patterning into consideration. I also cross Morning Glory as well which taught me that F1 offspring are usually a good mixture/blend of both parents .. it's the F2 and F3 that really start to get interesting.

Would you mind showing me a picture of your collection and or set up. Also, so what is the smallest you think I can keep mine, in order to witness a flower AND conserve space?
