As a comment about Foxglove (Digitalis Digiplexis® Illumination Flame), Joy wrote:

I had read that Digiplexis, though hardy to my zone, won't survive a PNW wet winter as too much winter wet can rot it. So I potted mine and moved it under my covered porch, then hand watered it through the winter. It stayed green all winter, then started growing again in March.

My two quite large digiplexis made it succesfully through Winter one year ago, but look now to have succumbed to this Winter that has had more rain and gotten colder, down to around 28 degrees. I'm leaving them alone until March- April at which time I will cut them back and see what happens....
