I have Waves of Joy which has one of the Kaleidoscopes as a parent. Dragonfly Dawn, the other parent, is beside it. Even understanding that WOJ is new, it's not nearly as vigorous as DD. I'm in a super mild climate with no freezing. I'm on the eastern side of the county and Trimmer is on the western side. Hope WOJ flourishes here!

I'm beginning to question my choices.

Leslie, T. Peppermint Delight was a skimpy grower for me. Thought I was going to lose it. I have moved it to a location that is south of the house, and it is doing better. Noticed that today.
For the same reason, I moved Sarah Starchak and Polar Dusk to the same location. They too
seem to be improving. Microclimates, gotta love 'em.

I thought of you when I was in the garden today. I was checking plants to note early spring growth. Cosmic Kaleidoscope is growing like crazy! Maybe it heard what I said about some of it's kin.

Leslie - Oh good for you! That's wonderful!! I hope you will share photos when it blooms. How long have you had it in your garden?

I always think of that old saying .... "First year plants sleep, Second year plants creep, and third year plants leap!" Perhaps that is true of some daylilies, too!

I just got it last year from Mark Sattelmeier. We'll see how it does after a year or two but I'm encouraged so far. I will take pics!

I moved almost everything in my garden last year. It is interesting to see what has just taken off this spring.

All about location it appears! I am excited for you. THAT is a beautiful cultivar, for sure! Might make a dynamite parent, too!
