What strange forms (mega-cresting?) these plants are taking. One of them looks like it's getting up and going to walk out of your plant bed.
Looks like the cresting form loses the nice maroon coloring or was the photo taken in its green stage?

By summer time it is green, it does lose the reddish brown color. I think that was the most unusual crested form I've had on the semps.
This sempervivum is noted for a propensity towards cresting. Wonder what it will do this year?
As you can see in the spring photo (darker coloring) it was just one rosette that crested.
I should check on the colony tomorrow, to see if there are any signs of cresting for this year.

Just got this one last summer from you, Lynn. It survived the winter well and hoping to see some chicks this year!

It turns out to be a very fun semp Chris. You just don't know what the cresting is going to do. It can take on all different shapes. Hope yours does some fun things this year. But mostly produces lots of offsets before it does anything crazy.

This might only be funny to me but Lynn I noticed this post yesterday morning but in my head I said "Hmm I hope someone else lets Lynn know she spelled the name wrong, I don't want to correct Miss Lynn" Shrug!
Imagine my surprise when I go to Sempervivum.liste.de and discover it is how the Germans spell it
Whistling who knew Rolling on the floor laughing
Glad I didn't say anything~ I tip my hat to you.
But wow what an amazing semp! Even the uncrested plants are lovely! At least one of your photos of crested should be posted on Sempervivum.liste (in my opinion)
Thanks Lynn for creating these threads
Cheers

Greg don't feel bad. I thought it was spelled incorrectly also. Hilarious!
I still want to spell it wrong, I have to catch myself every time I write the name. Big Grin
