Don't even ask -- the worst kind of March weather here................

Then I look at the long range forecast and we have a day coming with a high of 20 and snow.

A couple of inches of snow here last night & overcast with temp in the high 20s.
New England spring.

Our last day of reported rain for awhile. I would call it a light drizzle more than rain. Then nothing but mid 60's to mid 70's all week. I hope more rain is on the way.

We got 3 1/2" of rain since yesterday. When we were in town this morning the rain was coming down so hard that even with the wind shield wipers on the fast speed you could hardly see. The rain has stopped at the moment, our backyard pond is back again.

We got much colder the last few days, thanks GOD no freeze....

My Yellow Iris (dont know what it is, neighbor gave it to me) has some pretty blooms this morning...and a couple of Dutch Iris, few started blooming too...

I am SO jealous!!! Love that yellow NOID..............

Lovely, JavaMom. My irises are beginning to bloom also. Funny thing is all classes are going to bloom together instead of having the short ones bloom first and the tallest bloom last.

Thank you friends, it is a pretty yellow Iris, and I think I got quite few buds this time.... I just hope all my Irises come back and blooms this year, last year I had my gardener enlarge the flower bed because my Redbud's root got so much bigger and made quite a bit baldspot around it, but I was not home and I did not know if any of the Iris was damaged...

I am also in Fort Worth TX. I have been growing irises since 1984. I used to belong to the local iris society. I don't go to meetings anymore, I'm older now and don't get out much anymore. But I still have lots of irises. I hope to get someone to help me weed next week. My iris gardens are overwhelmed.

I have a new one blooming today that was a gift from Tom Burseen. He is a Texas hybridizer who lives in Grand Prairie, Tx.

"Sailors Warning" by Tom Burseen. It looked pretty good after a downpour on it last night.


Also blooming from Tom is "Beat the Heat". I have had it for a very long time.

Yes dear, wish I know what that one is, I think it's my neighbor who gave it to me, but it could be the one I got at Lowe's or Home Depot (they were just those dried up roots in a plastic bag) it took several years to grow, I thought first they didn't make it but then some blooms... Unfortunately we had a hailstorm last night and a few of those got hurt but the buds survives...

Glad to meet my Fort Worth neighbour, your Iris are sooo pretty !!! I have a few iris in my flowerbed around my Red Bud tree, I wish I know their name, if I can find my pictures from last year I wil post it...Thank you Janwax and tveguy3... I still don't know if we can call each other real name here ????

We vary between garden names & real ones. You will find no set way.
