I was cleaning up my beds for this year's planting and noticed these little guys all over the place. The garden is loaded with them, so I'm hoping they are beneficial - or at least benign - bugs.

I searched images on the internet for typical bugs in NW GA gardens but nothing that matches this. Help!

Thanks!

From the family of crustations known as armadilldiiae. Commonly known as a pill bug. We called them Roly Poly's when I was a kid. They come in various colors and even half one color and half another color. There harmless.

For me normally they are harmless. But for some reason last year they attacked two of my heuchera and set up shop in the main stems! First time I ever had a problem with them. Luckily I was able to take some cuttings from the heuchera and save them.

Oh no! That's not good! Hopefully, they will not be interested in my veggies. Smiling
