Love to try Grafting, Rooting & Sar
Hi Everyone. I feel very Greatful to have found this site!!! I was looking to purchase a dwarf Canna Beatrix. First of all my name is Beatrice although everyone calls me Bea. Plus I love the peach color & that it then turns pink. I fell in love in love with Cannas last year and recently attempted to scarifying a few seeds that I saved. So far two have a small green leaf starting to form which for me is very exciting. I would love to obtain more seeds of different varieties for purchase if anyone bas any available. Hopefully at the end of the season I will have seeds available to exchase or give to others in this group who may have interest. I was a critical care nurse for 32 yrs and unfortunately became disabled in 2008 & in totally turned my life upside down & I could no longer take care of people which was the most important thing in my life. So this time of year brings me true Happiness. Plants and gardening and watching everything I planted coming back make me feel like I'm Nurturing something again!!! Brings me a Sence of Peace, Calmness & Happiness!!! I'm sure many of you can relate. I'm glad to be here & look forward to learning from all of you, hearing back from you & giving back to you!
Regards
Bea Shapiro

Hi Bea, Welcome to ATP Welcome! I tip my hat to you.

This may help you find Canna lovers here that may have Beatrix in their gardens or know where to find them. They are also very helpful.

Hi Bea,

Welcome to ATP! Welcome!

I can't grow Cannas here but I do think they are beautiful. In the mean time, how about The Beatrice Rose?

Hi Bea! Welcome to ATP!

I feel the same way about seedlings: babies that I can take care who don't even cry when I get it wrong.

Good luck nurturing and multiplying plants!

Let me add my welcome as well! Welcome!
I think all gardeners feel that sense of nurturing their little green babies!
My mom grew Cannas in SoCal; she had some yellow ones and some red ones. I can't grow them here (or rather I can grow them if I want to dig them up and store them every fall, which is NOT happening!)
You might take a look over in the Plant and Seed Trading forum to see if anyone has Canna seeds to trade http://garden.org/forums/view/...
