I like the slight pink edging and the midribs on your first seedling. I think it's pretty! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your seedlings, you can sure make some beautiful daylilies. Thumbs up

Fred - Lovely!

I am very surprised that the Dragonfly Dawn pollen parent in the second photo did not produce a bloom that had some kind of pattern on the bloom. Go figure!

Crazy things happen when you mess with mother nature, here is one out of "Wild Dreams" with no sign of "Wild Dreams"
This is the reason we want to know the parentage of the plants we are hybridizing with.

Had one seedling blooming yesterday, the rain had ruined it.

Lookin' good Fred, and I love all the green in that throat and on the sepals! I'm so glad the show is finally starting. But unfortunately I've only seen a couple of scapes out there in my garden, so I'm going to have to go exploring! I know I have one on HEAVEN'S DECLARING, and Subhana's seedling has a bud opening today, but that's about it for now -- Bummer!

By the way, after you showed a couple of your seedlings from BUDDY'S SPOOK I purchased a plant from James Hall -- although I won't get it for almost another month. But I really look forward to seeing its blooms.

I will see lots of seedling from BUDDYS SPOOK this year, it has done really well for me. The seedling above is 7.5 months and has a decent scape.

I hope it's OK if I post seedling pictures here, as we have done in the past. This is actually not my own seedling but one of Subhana Ansari's that she shared with me because she knows I really love the little ones. All the other buds on this scape fell off, but yesterday the last one bloomed and it's a Tet.

Please forgive the blurry image taken in the shade (my camera is old...), but the blue tones show up much better in the shade so I wanted to include it. The bloom did not fully open because it's still cool here, but I sort of forced the petals down and measured it at 3-3/4". I think it's very cute, and you know I saved and froze the pollen and will play with it...

Thanks Karen -- And I'm already daydreaming about what I can put it on -- and DEBORAH JORGENSEN came to mind first... although I don't even have my plant of it yet... Hilarious!

Very nice seedlings, Fred. I actually like the color and form on TET LILLIAN'S THIN ICE X DRAGONFLY DAWN the best. And that Wild Dreams seedling is awesome.

I like the color of the first picture, but have never been a fan of daylilies where one of the petals look like a tongue sticking out Shrug! Buttered Popcorn is a good example of that. I have it, love a lot of things about it, but the form doesn't looks quite right with that tongue.

Fred, your pattern baby looks like it has an applique on the sepals. Nice!
Haven't noticed one like that before. I bet the next blooms will make you very happy.

Betty, on the almost 4 inch seedling, I see lots of really blue colors.
Very pretty, and it is so early in the season.

Looking forward to the April blooms too, and May, and June, and ya know what I mean.
