Thanks. Dad and I are looking forward to having family over on Easter Sunday. We were hoping Mom could enjoy a houseful of family too, of course, but wtih the cancer progressing so rapidly I was concerned there might come a point where it would be very difficult to keep her pain under control. There were a few days when we were chasing it, but we were able to keep her comfortable at home, and that was a blessing.

Thanks, Francine! I have my eye on a couple of parkinglot-side areas where I might be able to snag a couple of plants, too. Major roadside areas near here, too, but most aren't safe to walk along -- no shoulder, but a ditch instead!

I am sorry Jill, no seeds nor plants of ox-eye daisies. I know now how they look like, and when I see them I will get them for you----

Your Mom certainly does not want you to be sad, that was why she gave you a big serenade to tell you that she is happy-- So have a wonderful Easter with everyone who came for the gathering---

No worries about the daisies, just figured I'd ask in case somebody was pulling them out from between irises or something!

We're more joyful than sad. Missing her of course but loving her so very much.

Just found out that ox-eye daisies are invasive. Forbidden to sell or plant in Washington (State). They are so pretty though---

Jill, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Nothing in life prepares us for the death of a beloved parent. Wausau is a lovely town and my friends hailing from that area are hard working, down to earth and kind. I'm lifting prayers for comfort and peace for you and your loved ones and sending love and hugs to you.

Invasive plant lists vary by state... Although it's a European introduction, I don't think we need to be concerned about ox-eye daisies around here. A little googling and I found that it's considered invasive in several Western states, but on the East Coast and in the Midwest this statement from the Minnesota DNR seems to sum things up: "Oxeye daisy can become abundant in disturbed areas, but is not thought to be a big threat to high quality, native habitats."

Thanks, Sue. I'm looking forward to going back to the area, hoping to take some extra time there beyond the planned family weekend. Jim might have to work -- but Joyanna will be out of school!

My county tonight has Zero covid patients in hospital. I feel relieved and I imagine a great cheer went up where they enter the data.
Plant it and they will come.
