Thank goodness she is so young and nowadays all kinds of cardiac surgeries are "routine" -- altho scary- as I am sure your brother has told you all. She will be up and about in no time and will realize she dodged a bullet. I sincerely hope someone speaks to her about post op cardiac rehab because aside from the monitored exercise -- she will learn everything she needs to about her recovery and nutrition and medications. It takes away all the unknowns.

I just realized that storm is out and about in Florida. I sure hopes it leaves quickly and that it doesn't cause problems for your family.

The worse thing (and this is really not "worse") is that we have a beautiful day, perfect for getting things accomplished. My wife has said I can't go outside, at least not out in the sun. Where's the fairness of that? By the way, I think that she was a marine sergeant and/or a "hanging-judge" in her past life, so I do what I am told.

Perhaps the fairness is that you are still here to ask the question.

Sad to hear your news about DIL. Better that they caught it now. I hope she will be up and about soon. And I bet she will feel so much better once she recovers from the surgery.

There's a little silver framed message on our breakfast table that reads, "Did You Take Your Pills?" No need to nag on that one. I save the nagging for the bigger thing!

So how's your back, Ken ? I think she had some pretty strict ideas about your recovery there, too. I had a hunch she had the right idea and you are progressing well. Yes ? I think she knows her guy ...

My wife's a sweetheart. I joke a lot. I may do a lot of "joking" today, since I am housebound. I get bored pretty easily,.

My back is doing pretty well. As the surgeons have always said: "I can relieve your pain but I can't give you a new back". I just am sort of careful in what I do and how I do it. The back gets sore but that's OK. No sciatic pain.
