Your lilac doesn't seem to be the cultivar 'Miss Kim' which has pale lilac blooms. Any idea what it could be?

No, I don't. It came with a tag and it is a dwarf, late-blooming, highly scented shrub that gets burgundy tones in autumn. The flowers do pale by the second day. I just like the darker color for photographing so I try to catch it on that very first day.

Ok well I'll move it to the generic lilac entry then, only one other picture there so it will help start getting it filled in!

I had lousy internet connection last evening, but I wanted to mention that the image in question was of buds. The buds are much darker on this plant, but they do open to the lighter shade. There is another image of mine posted that you can use to compare, if you want to.

OK, I will move it back, I just saw your other photo. The buds just look so deep burgundy compared to all the other images here and online.

That may be because I used a polarizing filter when I was shooting that image.
