I've added some photos to the new ATP database, which most of you can't see yet because it's still in test mode. In case you've been in the habit of checking the Cubits database for new photos, these are ones you won't see there. Nothing's being added to that one.

This one is Anne Boleyn, a sweet David Austin rose that's quite short, never going above 3 feet in my garden. It spreads out at least 3 feet too, though, so it has a nice shape.

This is Cinnamon Spice, one of the Buck roses that hasn't been available in commerce until just recently. Dr. Buck had distributed roses to friends and family members years ago, and Chamblee Nursery started selling 10 of them last year.

Florizel came from Eurodesert as a band about a year ago and it's still quite small and rather fragile. The reason for the wire is that the cats keep sitting on it and squashing it, so it's in a cage below the ground to ward off the gophers and one above the ground to keep the cats off it.

Rejoice is a hybrid tea that was once quite popular.

Sequoia Ballet is a Ralph Moore rose and it might be the only grandiflora he ever created. If not, it's one of only a few.

This didn't go into the database. It's just a photo I snapped this morning of a Encore Azalea. I still can't get over the shock and delight of having azaleas in bloom in September. I love the Encore line.

An almost a 'pretty in pink' parade!
Never heard of the Encore Azalea line, will have to go check that out. So it blooms in spring as normal and now again in the fall? What a nice bonus! And the begonia with it looks great too. Thumbs up I had that one years ago, don't remember what happened, probably a bad frost. Is it in a pot? Seems to me I remember it planted in the ground or am I thinking of another plant?

I think this one's in a pot, but this crazy begonia is growing everywhere. It comes home with me every time I buy something at Sonoma Hort. It creeps into all of the potted plants there, along with the Aquilegia Polo described as "promiscuous."

Yes, the Encore Azaleas rebloom in late summer or early fall. When the line first came out, it was very expensive -- $9.95 for a small container even at WalMart. I was buying one a month and then one day I went on my monthly cat food run, prepared to buy one more at $9.95, and they were selling all of the ones they had left for 25 cents apiece. I filled two shopping carts with Azaleas and handed them out to all the neighbors when I came home. I kept a few, of course. Smiling

Ha, 25 cents! That must have been a long time ago, I don't think anyone drops their prices that cheap anymore!

No one dropped prices that low then either. That's why it was so amazing! It was only 5 or 6 years ago.

Good thing you were there at the right time, before someone else snatched them all up!

And I am off to bed, I keep falling asleep trying to catch up on threads. Blinking

I did leave a few for other people. I didn't want to be one of those shoppers that clears the shelf. Big Grin There's one of those at our Safeway. She buys all of the cottage cheese with pineapple because that's all her husband will eat. The only time I can buy it is if I catch her filling her cart. Then she takes pity on me and gives me a couple of containers.
