My bee mentor Roy and I got a hive out of a house today. Biggest hive he ever pulled in 50 years. We threw out comb and still had 2 deep 8 frame boxes and 1/2 a bucket of comb. Got 3 quarts of pressed honey and the rest of the wax/honey mix is in the crock pot on medium.

Caucasian and native mix breed bees. Could not find queen but did find 3 live queen cells. 1 is full of royal jelly and plenty of drones in this hive. If they stay I'll split next month and try to get queens for a friend.

I got stung once. Watching Roy fall off the ladder and run away. Yelling " There's bees in my hood" made it worth it.

Here is the new to them hive. Gonna inter stack some medium boxes with starter frames this week. With so many queen cells I'm going to help the new queen set up a separate home.
