It snowed enough to coat the lawn this morning. It is supposed to get down to 20 tonight. I don't think much that has sprouted will survive that cold. Plants are going to have to use any reserve energy they have to survive this one. It was way too windy, and a frigid wind at that, to cover anything. Don't think I am going to see many flowers this spring.

pepper23 said:High 20s will be the low tonight. And tomorrow will still be windy. I just covered up my big tree peony since it's loaded with buds and covered my 2 new nanking cherries I planted the other day because earlier this week the weather only showed the lows in the 40s NOT 20s!! I would have waited if I had known it would get this cold. Grumbling Grumbling

And I'm now waking up to snow again....

We had snow flurries yesterday too. I just checked the outside temp and it is 20.6 right now. Hopefully, it is suppose to start warming up next week. I didn't cover any of the up coming flowers. I hope they can survive this cold. It has also been so windy. Some days wouldn't be bad working outside if it wasn't for the wind.

What is with the wind. Today it has not snowed yet. It is sprinkling rain a bit but it is due to get colder so who knows. The wind has been unbelievable. I thought it was our normal off the ocean breeze , but no way, this is coming out of the West and it is dreadful. I can not work outside because of it. I can't even walk the dog because I have vertigo and it throws me off balance. Thumbs down Sighing!

The winds calmed down some here for today. Not a whole lot but enough that the dirt wasn't blowing into our eyes or knocking people off their feet. It felt more like what it's supposed to feel like this time of year.

We could plan a pity party for all of us come Spring. What do you think?
