Hi I have just got home 3 cuttings, Champa Loas, one is on the soft side but if pricked with a pin top, middle and base there is white sap, cutting is not wringled and has good form. Is it failing or can a cutting be softish and still be fine?
Yes, a cutting can be soft and not rotting; it happens frequently at this time of year if it has been stored or shipped. If you have white sap flowing you should be ok. I recommend to submerge the whole cutting in a bucket of water for a day to see if it will rehydrate.
Steve, I am at a loss. I don't think that I have ever had a plant or a cutting that was soft but not rotting. As far as I know, all my viable plants and cuttings are really hard to the touch. Of course, I don't poke around on all my plants either. Hopefully someone else with more experience than I can help you with this question.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
