welcome lynda. great time to join in the iris forum. many gardens are blooming or will be in bloom shortly. a good time to drool, and make wish lists for future acquisitions.

Iris loss was a pretty significant amount. I'm not sure about the others hope they are well. I'm surprised no Clifton or crowita.


I'm on a small farm 12 and a half acres lol but As I'm starting all over so I have fewer irises then I did with my little postage stamp of a yard before. No kidding the maintenance thing is rough. My current iris bed is between a strip of blueberries bushes and I'm out there as much as the veggie garden tearing out the grass and weeds I'd actually be ok with spraying an herbicide except I doubt there's anything I would trust around the blueberry bushes.

I noticed the tag from @evelyninthegarden and thought it was past time I check in.

The past couple years has flown by. I'm living on an acre in the central Sierra Nevada mountains near Yosemite and a couple miles from Doug Kanarowski of Mariposa Iris. I'm about 35-40 minutes from Superstition Garden.

I have not restarted my collection. If I decide to take that on I will need to terrace the hill behind my house, build a gravel road, and install irrigation.

Without irrigation on the property I would have trouble keeping much alive, although we have a number of historic Noids growing around the community.

I'm doing well. Getting the house and property fixed up. I love my quiet life up here. My sons visit occasionally and I have great neighbors.

I miss all of you (at least those I knew from before) and I know I've missed out on meeting those of you who have joined since I left. It's good to see some familiar faces!

With any luck I'll be able to join you all occasionally. I miss drooling over everyone's beautiful blooms! I hope you all have come through the past 18 months in good health!

Hi we have a grain farm on Green River just west of Bowling Green, KY. I grow in rows for my enjoyment but with the nature of perennials I also sell a few to buy more
I have had quite a bit of rot this year due to heavy rains this Spriing. My new additions will be in a raised bed.
