I just received my plants I had ordered from Shady Rest Gardens. They are the most beautiful fresh looking plants, so fresh and green. They really look like I just dug them out of the garden. I ordered two fans of four plants.
The main one I was wanting because of the several write ups I had seen on it was 'Suburban Nancy Gayle', and that is the largest of the plants received and I got three lovely healthy fans with great roots. Can you tell I am happy and very pleased?
I also ordered 'Blushing Octopus' because it was listed as 46-and over buds, and seven way branching, something I will be looking forward to, seeing it develop all those buds and branches.
'Orchid Gilded Ruffles' ,26-30 buds and six way branching, as you can see I was interested in getting a few new things, sorta "branching out" so to speak.
Lastly, I ordered 'Scarecrow', 26-30 buds and six way branching, a 39 inch tall plant with a 9 inch bloom, something that should stand out in the garden.
As an unexpected bonus plant I got, 'Peru-B-Ruby', this is another tall plant with a beautiful 9 inch bloom also, 16-20 buds and three way branching.
Now I said I ordered a double fan of each, the least number of fans in the group was the three large fans of 'Suburban Nancy Gale', the others had four to six fans (maybe more) and the bonus was a clump. Now that was a nice order to receive!

Now that's a good looking order right there! Shady Rest is located about a 45 minute drive from me. I will have to get up there and take a look around.

Since you seem to buy based on rust resistance, Larry, what can you tell us about these cultivars, in regards to that? Confused
Evaluating an iris seedling, hopefully for rebloom

Polymerous, this order was placed to have a little change of pace, so rust resistance will have to be learned by experience this time.

I also ordered some daylilies from Shady Rest Gardens for this spring. Doris is so nice and wonderful to deal with. She has been so patient with me for all the changes that I made on my order.

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Not only you get great advice and temptation on this forum, but you get great humor and a good laugh too! I feel for you Heidi but when it comes to bloom time, you will go ooh and aah over the blooms and you will totally forget about the empty wallet.

Hi friends,

Anyone has experience with 'Shake the Mountains', 'Paper Butterfly' or 'Jamaican Love' ?
My order of Wild Horses can't be fulfilled so I have to find a replacement...

Thank you,
Nan
