'Paula Fay' fading out beautifully.

'Dandy Dan' from Parkland last Fall. It looks like a 3 year old plant. Lovey dubby I can't get my camera to capture the blood red color.
I'm so glad I got him.

Lucky you, LG, my Parkland order got cancelled due to poor health last fall. I'm really going to miss them, hope the new owner gets set up quickly.

The first two are Coral Sunset? I know they start pinkish then fade to a sort of beige color but those are really faded? Interesting.

Yes, they are. Last year's flower at a public garden.

They look like Coral Supreme or Pink Hawaiian Coral, Littlebin. If your pic is really Coral Sunset, then I wonder if there are two versions of Coral Sunset, one with a more coral coloring and one with a pinker coloring. Confused Confused

I have all the Corals except 'Coral Magic', and I ordered that for Fall delivery. My two 'Coral Sunset' plants always bloom first.

Wonder if Coral Sunset is like some roses that can change color or have different colors due to temperatures and humidity or even soil. This is all very interesting. We just continue to discover new things everyday!

Karen, maybe you are right, I often can not differentiate all the corals.

Here is the first pic of my 'Coral Sunset'
Bud

Here is when it opened. I think the form was effected by all the frosts. It is normally more cupped.

LG, looking over the web photos of Coral Sunset from reputable vendors, it would appear that your Coral Sunset is the closest match to their pics. So I think your version is the most correct version out there. Your first and second photos definitely are those of Coral Sunset. If yours is the correct one, then I wonder whether my version is a mutation or another version out there or what? Anybody has any ideas? I bought mine from Gilbert Wild so the identity is rather iffy.

These Corals are rather confusing. A reputable peony lady on Facebook said she thought mine was 'Pink Hawaiian Coral'. My CS has no fragrance, and PHC does. I have my PHC about 8 feet from this CS and it always blooms later. It is just now opening its first bud, and CS is about done.

I will be posting pix of my other Corals as they bloom, so perhaps you will find one whose form more closely matches yours, Karen.

Oh Alex, how can I chose??? They all have different attributes that make you love them; their early blooming is one for sure!!

So far, the only thing going for Coral Fay is her delightful fragrance. But this is only her first time to bloom. Maybe when she is six years old like my CS I will love her too.

So what is considered all of the corals? Are you talking about all the ones with Coral in the name somewhere or any that are described as coral colored? The second would be a MASSIVE list! I think it'd be fun to try to list them all, what do yo think? Even if we start with the first--just peonies with Coral in the name, bet the list would be larger than you'd think.

Karen, I got my Coral Sunset from either Hollingsworth's or Adelmans and it looks like yours. I don't think there's a huge difference in my Coral Sunset and Coral Supreme, either. To me the only one that looks really different is Coral N Gold since it's so single (or at least the one I call CNG is). The others bloom at slightly different times...all of my pics are from last year, of course! I plan to uncover all of them tomorrow. It was really sunny and warm today but I was at work for 14 hours so didn't manage to remove the pots.

Thank You! for posting photos of your coral peonies, Liz! The color differences among the corals are so subtle, it is really hard to tell them apart. It is amazing however that the flowers bloomed so beautifully for you in spite of the damages the plants suffered from hail and freezes. I can see the damages on the foliage! It is no wonder that you love peonies so much! Thumbs up Hope your weather improves soon!

I sure hope you don't get sick of my photos.
There are a lot of peonies opening up. I got 1.5 inches of rain yesterday afternoon and we are to be in the 70's and 80's over the weekend.
