Do you think these are actually two different plants? SMG has them both. Go to their search function and type in Zelda. It brings them both up. I can't seem to find Zelda anyplace else on line, but that doesn't mean it isn't out there.....

I'm sure it is the same, I thought I'd looked this up in the past, and that it was on sempervivum.liste.de but guess not! It'll be interesting to see if anyone else has info! I tip my hat to you.

No "Zelda" to be found on sempervivum.liste.de, only "Proud Zelda". Confused
When searching "Sempervivum Zelda" in Google, the links are related to "Proud Zelda".
Does" Zelda" exist? Confused

Michael me thinks it is a mistake - or maybe an introduction by SMG without it being pointed out as such. Shrug! Don't ya love the name Zelda though! It's gotta exist! Although I like the name Proud Zelda a lot too!
Makes me think of 'Proud Mary' nodding

Chris I don't find 'Zelda' anywhere, not even SMG.
I might be that he removed it. We had the same thing happen a few years back with h. 'Angel Wings'. He also had one with the name 'Angel' but turned out to be the same heuff.

Lynn on SMG if you use the 'product search' button at the upper right of the page it gives you all the semps on his product list - so even if they are currently not available they will be in that master search list...
Chris @Goldfinch4 did you contact Don? (if one of them is new to you, you should contact him and let him know you want a different plant - I'm sure he'd understand)
Let me know if you want me to do that, I don't mind - I'll let him know that it looks like there is only one semp -
'Proud Zelda' unless he knows something specific about these 2 semps that we don't know...
I tip my hat to you.

Thank you all, I tried the 'Product Search' and found them both. Sure looks like the same semp to me.
I think the 'Proud' was dropped accidentally. It can happen.

Here is a copy of what I sent to Don @Goldfinch4

Hello Don how are you? I hope your business is going great!
I'm contacting you because there has been a post on Garden.org (formerly Allthingsplants)
regarding Zelda and Proud Zelda being the same semp.
Over the years 2 people on the thread bought these semps from you and feel they look alike.
I can find no info regarding Zelda, wondering if you can tell me anything about it?
Since I couldn't find info, and based on the photos on SMG, I'm thinking they may
be the same semp. So wanted to let you know, the name for that semp should be
'Proud Zelda'
I use sempervivum liste.de for the info here is a link. Also Horst's site doesn't show a Zelda.
http://www.sempervivum-liste.d...

We will add 'Zelda' to our database if you tell me it is a different semp from Proud Zelda,
please let me know.
Thanks for your time and I'll miss you at the semp clinic coming up this weekend
Be well
Your semp friend
Greg Colucci

Here is Don's reply

I looked this up on my database and there is collection info on 'Proud Zelda' and nothing listed for 'Zelda'. This leads me to believe that somewhere down the line someone just labeled the plant incorrectly and it propagated itself from there. I always knew they looked similar but they rarely got repotted at the same time and so I never really got to make a good comparison. I think the best is to assume you are correct and I will scrutinize them for a while to make sure. I always appreciate your input.

So you were right Chris @Goldfinch4
Another mystery solved...Sorry to anyone who ordered both semps from SMG, you now have an awful lot of 'Proud Zelda' and I think this one grows fast Whistling

An "awful lot of Proud Zelda' is not a bad thing in my book... Whistling
My label for Proud Zelda got separated from its plants during the move and so I have to do a few seasons-long scrutinizing too to see if my label got put back into the right place. In the meanwhile I did get ahold of a verified PZ to match the others with.

Don is such a great person to do business with.
Thank you for contacting him Greg.

Bev you should be able to identify your 'Proud Zelda' this time of year, and into summer.
Maybe you can show us some photos?
