So... this is the first year in 2 or 3 that I've bought onion sets instead of starting my own plants from seed; trying to save a little time for some other garden projects that I've been trying to get to. Normally the yellow onion sets that I've purchased (in the past) have been more or less round in shape, but this year -- from my usual source, the supermarket where I shop, which always has bulk white and yellow sets -- the yellow ones are very torpedo shaped. I've seen red torpedo onions, but yellow ones? I know none of the ones I've started from seed have been this shape either -- does anyone have any idea what I'm likely to end up with? (I'm planning to go to the feed store in the next couple of days and see what they have... but still wondering what variety these might be.)
