As part of our NGA acquisition, we also obtained all the content that has been developed over the years by this great organization. I'm frequently stumbling onto hidden treasures, and recently I found a really neat educational online curriculum that was developed in the early 2000s.

I put it back together and posted it to the site this morning. You can check it out by clicking on "Learning Garden" in the left hand menu bar.

It's all great, but n particular check out the "From Seed to Seed:
Plant Science for K-8 Educators"

There's a lot of information there to absorb. It's a great tool for educators, especially home schooled children.

Great information and lots of nice line drawings that might be incorporated into the Plant Details part of the database - I am always confused when it comes to choosing Inflorescense Type and a hover-over line drawing would be great.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

I am so happy that the stewardship of the NGA is now in the very capable hands of the Whitinger family! It would be so wonderful if every single school and every single after school program could have a "Learning Garden" so that children could become more aware of this earth and all she provides.

The most fun I had as a gardener was starting a garden at my DD's preschool. The kids loved working in the dirt, maintaining it and watching their efforts produce flowers, etc. I akwats said uf I ever became a Master Gardener, my community focus would be the children and raising new gardeners.
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love Truly, Laugh
uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you Smile.
