There are some glitches in the rose section of the database, so the whole thing has to be removed, re-imported from Cubits in a different way, and then revised again to reflect the latest changes. This will take a few days.

Please don't add any photos or comments to the rose database now. It can only complicate the process. I'll let you know when the database is ready to use again.

If you want to know the nature of the glitch, the ATP system doesn't allow duplicate names, so all of our photos for the two Alohas, for example, were combined in a single entry. The details for the Kordes shrub were retained in that entry, but the details for the Boerner climber were lost. Cubits didn't allow duplicates either, but Sue and I got around this by listing all of the alternative names in the titles of the entries in order to differentiate between roses with the same exhibition names.

The rose section of the database has now been corrected. Any additions that were made in the interim were lost, so if you happened to disregard this message and posted photos anyway, you'll have to re-post them.

Sue and I now have the perfect solution to the problem of our ultra-busy members who never have the time to post their photos in the database. We are now able to simply click on any photo you've posted in a forum and magically transport it to the database, so she and I will be going through all of the threads in this forum in search of photos to add.

If, for some reason, you don't want your photos to be in the database, ask Dave to exempt all of your photos from this process. If you do want them there, however, this is a dandy way to do it. You'll still get your acorn for each photo and you won't have to rummage through the photos on your computer to find the right ones. I added some photos this way today, so some of you will notice a change in your acorn supply. The extra acorns won't match the number of photos exactly because multiple photos of the same rose don't earn an acorn after the first photo in each gallery (for our purposes, the pertinent galleries are "bloom" and "entire plant").

Added some pictures to it.. couldn't add "Shockwave" or "Brilliant Veranda" as there's no entry for either one. Also, tried to use the "search" bar on the bottom and it didn't work. Sad

Very easy to add a new entry Toni, even if you just fill in the name, we can add the details. I created a Shockwave entry for you here, Zuzu will have to fine tune it for me though with the bloom and size details. Rolling my eyes.
Rose (Rosa 'Shockwave')

and here is Brilliant Veranda Rose (Rosa 'Brilliant Flower Circus')

Sweet, added!!

On a side note, I looked at my profile today and saw that I had 75 acorns. Since they hadn't run any of my crappy suggestions, I knew it wasnt from that, so I asked Dave on if it was a glitch. He stated that you now get acorns for posting pix in the database!! So that's another great reason to be putting pictures of your purdies into the database; not like anyone needed an additional incentive, right?

OK, I really should have remembered, when I read an informative post, I give it the green thumbs up in the bottom right of the post and then I can later find those from my profile page as it lists it as a tagged or bookmarked item. Here is Dave's post about the acorns.
