Hello fellow gardeners!! My name is Dana, and I'm a newbie!!
My gardening journey began in August of 2011, after resigning from my job as a Residential Building Designer. Being a two-income family with two tween girls, at the time, our back yard was resembling that of what could've been the Munsters' yard! I then decided to create a back yard "escape", and I've built a total of 10 perennial beds on our small city lot in the last 5 years. It's a constant work in progress, and I discovered yard and garden work to be free therapy (well, not so free, but you know what I mean!). It brings me a sense of clarity and peace.
My dad (God rest his soul) loved working in the yard and planting his annuals, and I just *now* realized that I'm joining this community on *dad's birthday*! Dad's lawn turf was *always* the envy of the neighborhood. You know, so thick and lush that it feels soooo good and soothing under your bare feet! I feel that dad is always with me, when I'm outside in the yard and gardens. I just wish that my grass would just magically look like his did, but without the work!
I look forward to getting to know you all, and to continue learning and developing, and perhaps contributing, as a gardener!
Happy Gardening!!!
