There are 7 species of Spiderworts recorded growning wild in South Carolina. I can't see details in your photos, but from what I can see Tradiscantia virginiana looks like the most likely one.

Note: Love my Spiderwort! My volunteers add amazing color along a wrought iron fence. They have spread and have made quite the border. I graciuosly thank the little bird who planted it there.

It is a delightful plant my DW didn't like it at first she would run over with lawnmower. Threw it in the compost pile but i rescued it. Then she saw it bloom now she loves it. Once again thank you all.
