It is a favorite one for vines there is a clematis at the base that DOES NOT use it...but that one on the fence grabbed it! Hahaha. Best plans go awry

I did not think to take a before photo...but I found this big ugly sea urchin in HomeGoods. Its companions were a big ugly starfish and a leaping fish. The material : a plaster of some sort..heavy but hollow. Solid white..with lots of marks on it from handling.

I painted it black because I thought would make a good center spine for the serpent.

I thought it looked lumpy bumpy like a serpent might ...but it also looks like that egg case spiders carry around. That wasn't my plan..
