I was checking for caterpillars today when I saw groups of these yellow and black bugs with huge antenna thingies on leaves of one of my Black Cherry volunteers. Any idea what they are? Good, bad, or just ugly?

Well, they're not lubber grasshoppers so I guess I can live with them. I just get a little scared when I see groups of bugs clustered together like that. I've seen adult Katydids but never knew that's how they started out. Neat!

I found this species is a favourite for collectors around the world! You get them for free. Hilarious!

One tried to hitch a ride on my shoulder, but I had to brush him off. The only insects allowed in the house are caterpillars! That's so weird that people raise Katydids. But then again, some people would think I'm weird for raising caterpillars. Hilarious!
