OK, just found there ARE thornless versions of honey locust, which has those flowers in the spring but it does not flower white. So Sue is correct.

The only explanation I have, is that locusts spread by the wind, birds, etc, and a honey locust must've just ended up in the spot where you found it. I've found locust trees growing in the raspberries, so they really do move.

Lol. Well if it makes you feel any better, I told my husband about it, (he's well versed on trees from his upbringing). After I told him what happened he replied , "Honey locust is more desireable". So there you go. Thumbs up
