When a new plant blooms for the first time, if you are impressed with the flower, the inclination is to photograph, post and "share the wealth" so to speak.
I am finding more and more how these long lasting flowers change over time.
This cultivar is named "Crystal Lace" and while the original photo posted is quite nice, to paraphrase a famous Wendy's commercial, Where's the lace?
The second photo of the same flower taken and posted 5/9 (4 days later) clearly shows the lace for which this cultivar was named. And this is from a plant with only 3 leaves growing in a 2 1/2 inch pot.
I continue to be impressed with my Streptocarpus plants. I think this species, especially the newer cultivars are deserving of more attention The name probably doesn't ... Sounds like a virus.
