Hey there, Im new here. Born and raised in East Texas. I love to plant and play in the yard. It doesn't always work out the way I want but at least I try. Cant wait to show off what has worked out for me, and maybe get some advice for the things that aren't.

Hi ! I don't think you're a Noob any more.

>> It doesn't always work out the way I want but at least I try. Cant wait to show off what has worked out for me,

In fact, that sounds like a VERY experienced gardener! Yeah, you said "new HERE".

I'm also in Hardiness Zone 8, but the coastal PNW has a VERY different climate and sun angle and daylength and pests and soil and ... almost everything.

What parts of the site turned out to be most interesting to you? I like the occasional seed swaps and vegetable gardening.

Welcome! ... Well... Get on wih it !!!
Tell us something you've done ! Or ideal ?
I hate to be left Hanging #.
OK !!! I'll go first. Me...bad back ! Hula-hoe handle to short ! Solution !
Buy sch.40 pcv pipe. Sand hula-hoe handle down to fit into pipe. Pan head screws to secure pipe. Duct tape pcv for good grip. ###
Make handle as long as you want !😎
Ok ! A twofore... Buy ya one of those pick up / trash sticks. The kind with the little suction cups on the end. $ 10/12 dollars. They work great to pull baby weeds ! And you can get close to your seedlings. Unlike the hoe where i go ( opps ### ) he's gone ###!!! Grumbling
😎😎😎

You will really like this place, full of great information and great people. Enjoy, from another Pacific Northwesterner.

If you look up at all our names, in the upper right corner, most of us have put a climate zone and location, If you ask a question about growing something, this information helps people give you the right advice for where you live. I did not put mine in right away, and people really needed that info from me, to advise on my many questions.

Welcome, Welcome!

http://garden.org/i/s/welcome.... And a BIG welcome from Central Texas. I've got friends that I go see once a year near Tyler. We can't exchange plants because all of theirs are acid loving plants. I'm alkaline here. Oh well.
I look forward to seeing pics of your yard. Mine is just now starting to get some plants put down. One day, I'll have pics to share.
