Hello,
Just wanted a bit of advice. Took a cutting from a monster mother plant. Left it in water for 3 weeks and it started making roots.. one big one about 5cm long and a few other short ones, so I potted it. It's been in a pot for a week but since the leaves have wilted a bit. Should I be worried? Is it just plant shock or what..?

Thanks

Hello!

I took a cutting from my monstera yesterday, planted it directly in soil and watered thoroughly. It had a long aerial root, about 3 inches. But today the leaves are drooping, and it looks wilted. Should I wait a couple of days, keeping the soil moist, or should I just put it water and letting it root in water instead?

Thanks!

Hello! Welcome Smiling

I personally prefer to let it root in water as I have the most success with that method. Generally rooting a plant takes a while and can be a shock for the plant at first. If it were me I'd probably take it out and root it in water but I don't know if that would be too much stress for it at that point or not as I've never rooted this specific plant before.

These cuttings were taken off about a month before this pic was taken on Oct 3. They are well rooted and growing about how I expect. Putting on new growth but slowly. Like the juvenile leaves of the regular green M. deliciosa, the juvenile leaves of the variegated ones don't immediately resemble their parent

Same cuttings today, 22 days later, new growth of course evident but these take time, like Will said, its a game of patience. You can't rush them.
