Can anyone give me some advice on transplanting creeping phlox? I have 3 huge plants that are in beautiful bloom. But they are in an area where they aren't needed anymore and would be much better someplace else. I read that the best time to move it is after it blooms. But I want to know if it is okay to move it while it is still in bloom. Please help if you can. Also how do I go about getting several plants out of each one?

I move creeping phlox in bloom. Its pretty easy to transplant. As it is a running sort of plant it roots easily. I just dig it and divide. When I replant I look for the part that is coarse and almost woody. I bury that part. I also will put dirt over a bit more. Keep it watered and it should take quickly.

Thanks Jennifer. My sister emailed me saying that she wanted to find an online place to buy some creeping phlox. So I thought to myself "Why would she buy plants when she can just come get some of mine since I want to move it anyway." So I am going to contact her and see if she wants to come get some of mine. Hopefully, it is the color that she wants. I just went outside and took these pictures. The sun is shining brightly and the grass was nice and wet with dew.
This used to be the area in front of my garden shed but I moved my shed this spring and have other plans for this area in the future.

I moved a bunch of creeping phlox last year. Wow! It got huge fast!! I think the mild winter really gave it a big head start.
