Thread OP

The local nursery sold me two of these trees 12 years ago to go on a condo patio. About two years ago the roots started growing across the patio. The trees now tower over the garage they are so tall. They are three feet apart. Is there another solution for them other than cutting them down to save the house foundation and patio?

Welcome! I'm not familiar with the tree but hopefully someone can help you. Just to establish the correct identification of the tree first, though, is it this one, Elaeocarpus decipiens?

If this is the tree it would be nice if you could submit photos for the database here because it doesn't have any.
