In East Texas, when should I dig and divide bearded iris?

I think the best time is late summer and fall, when the plants are preparing for dormancy. You will find (better) advice on the "Irises" forum though.

Check out the "Irises" forum, Ann. I am anything but expert here. I have a few hand-me-down iris plants but my main interest is tropical plants.
