I agree, Sensitive Briar but I have no idea which one, possibly Sensitive Briar (Mimosa microphylla) which is found in both Alabama and Florida. http://www.alabamaplants.com/P...

Or maybe Nuttall's Sensitive Briar (Mimosa nuttallii)

This is almost certainly Mimosa microphylla. There are only two species recorded in Alabama. The second is M. strigillosa, which this doesn't look like. I noticed in the last photo that the flowers are growing in pairs and I found one photo online that shows M. microphylla with paired flowers. http://www.rnr.lsu.edu/plantid...
