How long do you have to keep these hours up Dirt?

I was fooling around with the super macro mode on my new camera today. I still have some learning to do but here is my first attempt.
2 Fire ants on agastache. Hint: Both ants are upside down.


Honey Beezzzzzzzzz on the bee bath. BTW, they are getting somewhat protective of that bird bath and even for myself it's getting a little hairy when I go to change the water in it or fill it up. They do NOT want to leave! They were getting pretty aggressive last time I went to dump & refill it in the afternoon. I did ignore them of course but have decided the better part of valor is to get that job done first thing in the am when there are only 1 or 2 on it.

There's hardly anything more tempting to a dog than a rabbit unless it's a squirrel.

Plato is a natural born puller.
Here is is at rest after working in the garden and helping us re-pot plants yesterday.

Bumble Bee



Being shy. You can't see it's face. My bad. Bumbler doesn't like me taking photos & flies away every time I do.

I find bumble bees difficult to photograph, they move too fast from flower to flower.

Here's "The bug of the day" since it tricked me... I thought it was one of my assassin bug friends and it wasn't until I downloaded my pics that I realized it's a leaf-footed bug!!

Yes, Bumbler kept playing ring around the rosie with me. VERY frustrating. Then it looks at me like I'm being such a giant pest and major drag & then flies off. I told it if it would sit still for just *one* good photo.... but it didn't care. Spoiled sport.
