A couple of unknown "garden guests". Don't know what they are...probably not pollinators but pests of some sort. They might pollinate accidentally. Rolling my eyes.

They are cute, GrammaChar, but you're probably right about them being pests, or as I like to think of them, food for birds and other creatures. Whistling Hilarious!

I just witnessed this jumping spider try to catch a grasshopper. Somehow he missed but I don't think he gave up, I saw him move to where the grasshopper had gone, but couldn't see either. He was a big jumping spider! Maybe you can see the leaf is half gone, the work of that grasshopper.

Love jumping spiders and crab spiders!!! Lovey dubby Lovey dubby Lovey dubby
And I love these harvestmen, which some people call Grandaddy longlegs. They're not spiders - and they do not have venom stronger than cobra snakes!!!! That's a total myth! I taught all the grandkids that they are totally harmless.

Great shots all ya all!
Those harvestmen are so fascinating!
I wish I had ready access to that post a while back to link in here again, but alas, no time to find it now...

I will, however, take a moment to share this

and say this:

I mean no offense, none. This is just my situation and my sentiment on the whole separatist thread thing--
I don't have time for that!!!!
Seriously, I really don't have time to keep up on all the things I really need to, let alone want to.
My 'thread watcher' is already so ridiculous I'm about ready to unwatch all just so I don't feel guilty when I don't look at them Rolling my eyes.
It's my problem--not everyone's--but the thing is, I would really enjoy it more if the random butterfly or bird or whatever showed up in this thread than if they didn't because I like to see them and I do check this one out eventually. I don't and can't manage to view all the others.
Please feel free to share the 'wrong' photos here, for me, anytime.
I really appreciate it!

As moderator, I have to keep my eye on all the threads in this forum. Not everyone does the same. I know there are people in the butterfly thread that never come to this thread. Just as the bird people don't tend to visit the bug threads. So when I see a butterfly picture in this thread, I think about all the members in the butterfly thread who would want to see it, comment on it, maybe ask a question, and they aren't getting the opportunity to do so. Also, what's the point of having different threads for various subjects if people just ignore them? We might as well just have one thread where we post everything, but then that would be chaos.

If the turquoise bits are eyes, what are the 4 shiny black convex things before the turqoise? There are two larger discs, flanked by two smaller ones.
God blessed me with dirt.

Oh, Melanie, you are a great Moderator. I'm sorry that sometimes we're an unruly bunch and get off topic. I understand that every forum needs structure, and you do your very best to keep us in line. Once in a while I post in the wrong place because I get confused. And occasionally I do it just to mess with you.
We love you!

Ann your photo is so much better than the jumper I captured this afternoon. I didn't get too close because he looked like he wanted to jump on my face.

I think donkeys are so neat! They are such smart animals and stubborn... like me. Rolling on the floor laughing

Robin, I think I recall that jumping spiders have like four sets of eyes. So they are all eyes.

Don't all spiders have 4 eyes?

Maybe, Ann. I'm not sure but I remember reading about the jumping spider because you can see two sets of eyes but they actually have four-sets of eyes, that would be eight eyes all together.

I usually don't get close enough to spiders to count their eyes. Green Grin!
But some do have some unusual traits besides having too many eyes. Did you know that harvestmen (grandaddy longlegs) breathe through their legs?
Not sure what this one in the photo is....but pretty. (Didn't count the eyes).
