This rose had a tag that said peace climber , but the pictures I see on the net are very yellow ?
Also I can not find a peace climber in the ATP database.

It is a great rose climbs like crazy and has many blooms , not much on smell.

I think it is safe to say it is not Climbing Peace, but I don't know what it is except quite lovely! Probably someone here will be able to identify it for you.

There is an entry, but your rose is not a Peace climber.

Rose (Rosa 'Peace, Cl.')

My first impression was that it's Queen Elizabeth, but the climbing variety of QE is very fragrant but quite stingy with blooms -- the opposite of your lovely rose.

Well I may never know .
At my house I do not keep accurate records, but this rose is at one of the gardens I tend and I wrote the name down when it was planted in 2008, the tag must have been wrong

It is still a beautiful rose and ''a rose by any other name.''..? still smells the same

Is there a climbing version of Pink Peace? It looks like Pink Peace.

I wouldn't think so, Porkpal. The transfer of fragrance depends on so many elements of the hybridization process, and some of the Peace roses are sports or are not related to Peace at all. Pink Peace was hybridized from Peace and something else and it does have a strong scent, but I don't know whether it has the same fragrance as Peace. Flaming Peace is a sport and doesn't have much fragrance at all. Glowing Peace isn't even related to Peace and has no fragrance, and those are just a few examples.

Thanks, Zuzu. My mother grew Peace and often had it in a bouquet on the dining room table at dinner time on Sundays in the summer. The fragrance of Peace always reminds me of those days.

Sigh, I GOTTA find a way to grow hybrid teas here in the frozen northland. I had a Peace and a Sterling Silver when I lived in SoCal....two of my favorites! And yes that is a great big hint for suggestions!

My mother grew Peace and many other Hybrid teas in Massachusetts which gets pretty cold but I don't know what zone it is. Then again, she could grow practically anything.

Woofie - I grow many many hybrid teas here, and I'm jsut as cold as you are. Bury them deep & cover them heavily in mulch. At least you'll get the snow, we don't. Just the cold & the wind.

Hmmmm, just how deep is "deep?"

Woofie - I always plant the rose with the budunion or the budflare (if it's an own-root) at least 2" below ground, and then pile the dirt up around the canes so that only like 2-5" of canes are sticking up out of the ground, then put mulch on top of that. If it's a new rose planted late, I'll put a bottomless bucket (3gal plant bucket from like Home Depot that I cut the bottom off of) around the rose & fill it 100% with mulch. Did that last year with 2 roses I received from England and planted in November.. they were two of my better bloomers this year! If you look at some of the pictures I just put on my last parade, especially California Dreamin' , that's a 2 year old plant and is doing quite well (huge blooms). I'm going to say that at least half of my roses are zone 7s.. the rest are zone 6. I have very very very few zone 5s and I don't think I have any zone 3-4s (Canadian roses like the Meilands)
