Plant shows are super fun, even if I don't grow the plant in question. Last year I went to the Daylily Show, and the Rose Show, but I missed the Hibiscus Show because I was sick. So I really wanted to go this year. It's always fun to talk to other plant people, too!

I attended my first Daffodil show in April, it was a World Convention Show in St Louis. An amazing experience (I think it yielded 195 additions to the Daffodil database). There were literally hundreds and hundreds of entries.
Thanks for the postings and entries to db Melanie.
Good way to accumulate acorns and expand db.

That's what I tell people all the time, Jack! Plant shows are a great way to earn acorns while having fun! And you tend to see some harder to find or rare plants, too so that helps fill in a lot of gaps in the database. It's also fun to see what varieties people are growing in different regions. Botanical gardens are also a good way to earn acorns and expand the database. Heck, I've been going to Lowe's and taking pictures and you'd be surprised how many plants I see that don't have pictures yet! And again, what they carry at my Lowe's is going to be very different than what they carry in other parts of the country so it's fun to see the variety. Plus, it's always good to get out of my house for a while. The hard part is keeping my money in my pocket! Hilarious!

Botanical gardens - I'd live in one if I could. My biggest favorite (and most visited) is Mobot (Missouri Botanical Garden) in St Louis.

I've never been there, but I really want to. I actually live closer to the Tulsa area though and have not been there either!
