my vote is for Laura Harwood as well - that should be midlate to late blooming and fairly short

What confused me a little was that the shape was so rounded?

'Night Beacon' has a rounder shape. "Laura" is a large flower and longer.
The first 2 pictures are of 'Night Beacon' in my garden. The next 2 are 'Laura Harwood' all taken this summer.

But CRADLE OF BETHLEHEM doesn't have that well defined white stripe down the petal centers, at least in these pictures.

I wish there were a method of inscribing the rhizomes with their name, much like you would brand cattle.
Have tried wrapping those wire and metal tags around the roots and burying them, but the wire degrades and separates from the plant.
Any ideas ?
Maybe someday we will be able to implant microchip ids......

I got those wonderful markers by Eon and the Brothers P-Touch labelmaker, and I'm slowly converting all my iris and daylily labels over to those. The markers come in different lengths so it's not easy (at all) to knock them out of the ground. And if you don't like the look, you could put the marker behind the plant so it won't readily show.

Try burying a plastic knife with the plant, with the name on the blade in Sharpie. For added protection, you can put a layer of the old fashioned, clear scotch tape over the name. You won't know what it is till you dig it up - but I have had the knives remain for over 10 years and still be easy to read. The roots grow right around them. I usually put the knife in the hole horizontally under the roots.

I'd have to dig a plant up to take the photo to use with it!

If my friend brings me RINGS OF SATURN like he says he will -- I'll take a photo and submit it.

I bought a box of 500 or 1000 plastic knives at Sam's club for under $10 years ago. Been using them ever since. I don't use them much in the daylilies now, because I am using the AAA markers and the stakes that come with them. Before I get the marker, I use Impress-o-tags with a hole in them to put on the stake.

I use plasticware and a Sharpie to identify the various daylilies when shipping to other forum members. Write the name on the fork or spoon, wrap it with the fan, and away we go. Smiling
If you don't ask, the answer is always 'no.'
