I have within a larger garden several beautiful five by five foot Asian lily spots, about fifteen inches tall and close enough together to provide a gorgeous blanket of color. Too early, however, the green part dies away leaving something akin to the aftermath of a forest fire. The gardens are zone 3-4; again, the area involved is several five feet by five feet spots in a continuous color display garden. My preference would be an inter-planted species so that I don't have to replant all the Asian lilies every year. No limitations on suggestion except too prolific, seed-born plants.
