I have within a larger garden several beautiful five by five foot Asian lily spots, about fifteen inches tall and close enough together to provide a gorgeous blanket of color. Too early, however, the green part dies away leaving something akin to the aftermath of a forest fire. The gardens are zone 3-4; again, the area involved is several five feet by five feet spots in a continuous color display garden. My preference would be an inter-planted species so that I don't have to replant all the Asian lilies every year. No limitations on suggestion except too prolific, seed-born plants.

We will need to know your location to give you suggestions for plants, skipper. Please put it into your personal profile so it will always appear in the right hand corner of your posts. Find your profile in the blue sidebar, the little person icon at the top.
