This plant has recovered in it's second year, with a normal wet winter, to flourish and bloom. It has many attractive features.

I grew this from seed in 2014. It put out a nice silvery rosette, but didn't grow any further. After overwintering the winter before indoors in the basement, with occasional watering under lights, it grew to a hefty size and bloomed thrillingly out in the garden (amended clay at the bottom of a slope) last year. But last winter it didn't overwinter because I forgot to water it. So I'm growing a seedling from seed I gathered from the mama plant out in the garden this year.

I put the baby out in late April and it didn't seem bothered by the extremely wet and chilly May, although it didn't but on much growth. No slug troubles, no other pests I can see. I don't expect it to get to full size this year, but I'm preparing to overwinter it like I did its mama for blooms next year. The foliage alone is worth growing for, a silvery delight.

Sounds great. It does have beautiful foliage and with the flowers, is a stunning combo. Let us know how it does for you.
