Devastated! Plumeria buds seem to be drying up.
If you can view the photo clearly all those little leaves at base of inflo have never grown.
Also, stem seems to be somewhat soft in spots. This is the was cutting was sent.
Is there anything more I can do.?
As inflo is withering and looking dry, should I give plant a little water?
Feel like am running a triage center.

Father, do we know that this plant is rooted?

With no leaves the chances are good that it isn't rooted yet. That means the inflo is taking all the strength from the cutting. This is likely why it is getting soft.
Take the stem and try to wiggle it gently; it will tell you whether it is rooted. If it's not rooted, I would (I know - this is hard) cut off the inflo to give the cutting strength to root.
If there are no roots the plant has no way to take up water, so watering will not help. You could mist it a little.

Your cutting is really trying hard to do many things. It is trying to root and bloom at the same time. It is a hard thing to accomplish. The little leaves under the inflo/flower stem shows that it is trying. I hope you are not watering it?? May I ask what kind of soil mix you have used?

Firstly, I don't know whether there are roots or not but quite afraid to pluck cutting from soil as I fear terribly losing the first real inflo that did not get to this stage on other plants.
Know it sounds silly but from my clinical pastoral education I am grieving.

We all know what you are feeling, Father. We all want blooms. We all anxiously await for the beautiful flowers and scent of the plumeria. The inflo you are getting probably comes from the work of the mother tree that your cutting was taken from. They say it takes about 3 years after you root a cutting. If that there doesn't teach patience, I don't know what does?! Myself, I am running out of patience and will get rooted 2 year old cutting or try my hand at grafting to speed up the process some.

I'm sorry, Father. I really know how you feel. Our plants become our babies.
