The whole school garden has been crazy this year. I got most of it out then was told it is on hold again as the bids came back too high. They are rebidding now with a few things removed (like the outdoor classroom ) and they hope to start construction late October/early November. The area looks terrible with most the plants out, the sitting wall removed (rebuilt on other side of school) and weeds everywhere! Another teacher has now volunteered to help redesign/care for the areas we still have as I am slightly overwhelmed. Yeah for teamwork.

I was talking to a retired hybridiser and seller here. When they had their daylily farm they chased some children off their property. Someone came back and sprayed their seedlings with roundup and sprayed selected beds of their stock.

How horrible! That would make me sick to my stomach.

Got bad news today, new building principal and superintendent decided to remove most of the side garden too. I already knew they wanted to remove the greenhouse as it is past it's prime but had no idea until today that they wanted the garden near it gone too. I have three weeks to remove plants...some are ones we just moved over there Anyone want daylilies real cheap???

Lisa, it just went from bad to worse! Put up a list of what needs to go, and I'm sure you can unload them. I'm almost done with moving mine, so maybe I can help out.

Isn't that the truth! I am wishing the best for you, Lisa. Our local HS doesn't have a GH anymore either. I bought ferns and annuals, tomatoes and other plants when all my kids went

Lisa - How sad for the school students and families and even teachers. From photos I saw of the garden areas, it was beautiful. Such a loss to many!

Yes! Do list your daylilies in the Classifieds as I bet others would be delighted to acquire some of them!
