This plant is growing in the sand in a mainly sunny area. Any idea what it is?

This tree has been growing on my neighbor's front lawn for years.
About 6 yrs. ago--she had it cut down to the roots. She thought
that would "kill it"---She is NOT a gardener.
Now it has re-grown is it's full glory. I believe it may be a frut tree
of some sorts. Just because of the leaves.

Can anyone tell me what this tree is? Thanks, Gita

I appologize. I thought anyone could post on the Plant ID thread.
That is what my intention was????????

I tried to find the beginning or end of the last post so I could add mine.
I guess I failed. Could you tell me how I can start "My own Thread"?

If not--I believe there are other "Plant ID" Threads in this Gardening Site. .
Will try my "home" Thread---the Mid Atlantic gardening".
Don't think anyone will shoo me away on that Thread.

@gitagal no one was trying to shoo you away but you posted your question on the original poster's thread, he's trying to get an ID for his plant and once it's IDed, the thread is marked solved/closed. It's not an ongoing ID thread for other members plants, otherwise the original poster would get notified every time there was a new post, not related to his plant in any way. Each person that needs a plant IDed needs to start their own thread in the Plant ID Forum so all answers pertains to just their plant. It also highlights your photo in the forum so others can see it right away and perhaps recognize it.
You can see them all here: Plant Id forum

You also added it as a reply to someone else's thread in the Tree & Shrubs forum.
